The Anthem Golf & Country Club was ranked third among all private golf courses in Arizona by Arizona Business Magazine's "Ranking Arizona" for the year 2001. Designed by Greg Nash & Associates, the challenging 7,168 yard championship course opened in January 2000. Arizona Foothills Magazine has recognized the course as having one of the 18 best golf holes in the state, the 557 yard par-5 8th. The second 18-hole championship golf course, also designed by Nash & Associates, opened in Decmber 2003.
